Our Mission
The project aimed to revolutionize gas delivery services to Mexican homes by collecting real-time data on gas tank levels, thus providing valuable insights for both gas delivery companies and end-users.
Development
The development phase focused on creating a hardware solution integrated with IoT technology for measuring gas tank levels and providing geolocation data.
1. Hardware Implementation: The designed hardware is installed directly onto the gas tanks in homes as well as on gas delivery trucks. This system sends data to Azure via IoT, allowing both gas delivery companies and homeowners to make informed decisions. The hardware monitors gas tank levels and includes GPS technology for precise location tracking, serving a dual purpose for both homes and gas transport vehicles.
2. Data Transmission and Aggregation: Information regarding the gas tank's condition is transmitted and centralized using Azure, facilitating easy access and analysis.
3. Software Development: A software platform was developed to aggregate and display data from each device. This system enables the optimization of gas delivery routes, ensuring efficient service provision.
4. Database Utilization: The collected data is analyzed to generate actionable insights, such as identifying the most efficient delivery routes and predicting customer needs based on tank levels.
5. Automatic Alerts: The system generates automatic alerts for gas suppliers, indicating homes within their service area that are nearing low gas levels, potentially identifying new customers. A dashboard highlights homes in need of gas, with the mobile app allowing customers to confirm delivery appointments.
6. Mobile App Creation: An app for customers was developed to display the real-time status of their gas tanks and confirm delivery appointments, enhancing service transparency and efficiency.
Results
In the wake of implementing our innovative Pilot Project for Home Gas Delivery Service, we have observed transformative outcomes that underscore the effectiveness of integrating IoT technology into traditional service models:
1. Implementation of follow-up calls and automated software to optimize customer service.
2. Fuel savings of 20-30% for the delivery fleet through route optimization, reducing operational costs.
