Production Tracking System
Our Mission
Accurately count the number of boxes produced in a single day and to generate a file for the tax authority (SAT) to facilitate the payment of production taxes. This initiative aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and compliance within the alcoholic beverage industry.
Development
The overarching goal was to minimize the loss of tax stamps and ensure taxes were paid accurately based on actual production volumes. Our approach to achieving this was multifaceted:
1. Hardware Development: We embarked on designing and developing custom hardware tailored to the production lines of each industry. Utilizing infrared sensors, we created a system capable of detecting and counting the completed boxes. The configuration was pre adjusted on software based on the number of bottles per box to ensure an accurate tally of the final production count.
2. Data Acquisition: The signals from the sensors were captured using a microcontroller, which was directly connected to a computer. This setup enabled the use of software to begin the counting process and record production reports effectively.
3. Software Development: For each production line equipped with our hardware, we programmed the system to capture the product being manufactured. It counted and recorded the final number of bottles alongside the product name. For instance, on February 8th, 1993, the system reported the production of 500 bottles of José Cuervo Reposado Tequila.
Results
The implementation of our system led to remarkable outcomes:
1. The system has demonstrated the capacity to meticulously count up to 10,000 boxes daily for each production line. This level of precision and efficiency has significantly enhanced our ability to manage inventory and comply with regulatory requirements.
2. We have accurately counted a total of 54,750,000 boxes. This achievement not only underscores our system's reliability and effectiveness but also highlights our commitment to operational excellence and compliance.
3. Unprecedented at the time, automated the final process of production lines, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
4. Our system was adopted by major industry players, including the entire Casa Pedro Domecq group, José Cuervo, Herradura, Tequila Sauza, Don Ramón, 7 Leguas, Centenario, Tres Magueyes, and La Madrileña.
